Indian batting all-rounder Masood Shahrukh Khan was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 27, 1995. Khan is a right-hand batsman who competes in domestic cricket for his native Tamil Nadu. In the limited format, the all-rounder is known for his ability to hit the ball powerfully and for being a finisher. Shahrukh acknowledges that Dinesh Karthik has helped him become a better finisher and player. Khan became well-known due to his outstanding results for Tamil Nadu at the U-16, U-19, and U-22 levels. In February 2014, he made his senior team’s List A debut against Goa. 

The same year, he also participated in his first T20 match. Shahrukh represented Tamil Nadu in List-A and T20 cricket in 2014, but he had to wait till 2018 to receive his first Ranji cap.  Khan made his Tamil Nadu first-class debut against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy for the 2018–19 season in December 2018. At number seven in the contest, he scored 92 runs off 155 balls. Khan was a member of the legendary Tamil Nadu team that won the trophy in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament in 2021 despite being undefeated the whole season.

Khan received a big break in the IPL in 2021 when the Punjab Kings selected him for a high price, thanks in part to his meagre accomplishments in domestic cricket. In his IPL debut, he scored an undefeated six from four balls against the Rajasthan Royals. He was kept on by the Punjab Kings for the 2022 and 2023 Indian Premier League seasons the following year.  The national selectors were also impressed by Khan’s pinch-hitting skills, as he was included in India’s T20I squad as one of two backup players for a series against the West Indies.
