Du Plessis: Controversy
Du Plessis was twice found guilty of ball tampering while playing for South Africa. The first incidence occurred in 2013 during Pakistan’s Test match at The Oval. Du Plessis was caught ball-tampering again during the 2016 Hobart Test against Australia.
In the first occurrence, Du Plessis altered the properties of the ball by rubbing it against a zipper on his jeans. Since this was caught on tape, Du Plessis was found guilty.
