List of IPL Teams in TATA IPL 2023

In the 15th edition of the competition in 2022, two new teams, the Lucknow Supergiants and the Gujarat Titans, were added, and both were selected to compete in the finals. Gujarat Titans won the previous IPL T20 season in 2022.

The first season of the IPL T20 included eight teams. In the fourth edition, two new clubs, Kochi Tuskers and Pune Warriors, were added, giving more opportunities to domestic talent. Yet, as the number of teams increased, the event took longer to conclude, making it somewhat uninteresting. The Kochi Tuskers were dropped from the following edition, as did the Pune Warriors later on.
